The role of KMFE Environmental was to ensure environmental impacts are identified in all the Zest WEG operations in South Africa to assist with the process of acquiring ISO 14001 certification.

KMFE Environmental was guided by the conditions of the EMPr in understanding the impacts related to their operations and the assessment thereof.

The duties of the KMFE included:

• Determining a baseline of the environmental conditions by means of photographic evidence and site observation.
• Completing environmental checklists during site visits.
• Submitting an environmental audit report to ZEST WEG GROUP AFRICA (PTY) LTD.
• Responding to any environmental issues observed during site inspections and advising the client accordingly.
• Reporting non-compliance matters to the client.
• Recommending remedial action for non-compliance.
